Final book review!

My last blog entry from my class will be about the final book review.

Miki's Book: Dining in Japan

Summary: In the book, many Japanese foods and Japanese customs are introduced. Also she mentioned that we can learn some recipes and the Japanese traditional movements.

What she liked best: She liked the part of traditional Japanese holidays. She said that it helps to spread Japanese customs to foreign people.

Flaws: None.

What Japanese recipe do you like?
― Tempura

Do you think it is important to know these traditions?
― Not necessarily however, it is better if you know it.

Whether I'd be interested to read the book: Yes, I am very into studying Japanese cuisine recently so definitely a yes.

Extra Restaurant!

Hi!

I'm originally from Australia but while living in Japan I used to live in Shizuoka Prefecture.
We were assigned to go to a restaurant and to make a review.
I did that with my friend but when I went back to Shizuoka for the New Years I went to a particular restaurant with my mum and I thought I should introduce it too.

番番亭 "Ban-ban-tei"
This is a pork cutlet & Tuna Restaurant in Yaizu, Shizuoka Prefecture
What is interesting about this restaurant is that the restaurant it self reuses a monorail which was used in Chiba Prefecture.
In my opinion, if you are a Pork lover you should definitely visit this place.

Restaurant Review 1

Today I went to Coincide Cafe&Life in Shibuya for lunch with my friend.
When we were heading to the restaurant we were aiming we happened to walk passed this cafe.
And because the restaurant we were planning to go was closed until dinner time due to New years we chose to go to this cafe instead.

Coincide Cafe&Life is an Organic cafe located in Shibuya.
There's 4 menu at lunch and they all cost 1,000 yen.
You can have dessert and it was 550 yen per dessert.
We reached there about 1p.m. so most of the menu was sold out.
I had Fish and my friend had Chicken.

All the menu's came with a big salad bowl and soup and Brown or White Rice or Bread.
And the Rice and Bread was all-you-can-eat.

Nothing was over or uncooked and everything was just perfect.

The atmosphere was very welcoming and the waitress' were very kind too ;)

About the Book Pt2

Hi, I finally remembered to make a post about my book I'm reading.
As I mentioned way back at the beginning of my blog, I'm reading a book about
Why cooking is thought to be feminine? like as in mums job to cook etc.

The recent pages I've read it mentioned about juvenile cookbooks.

Now this, I remembered when I used to live in Australia and every Wednesday we were allowed to stay in the library for the whole lunch break. When we'd usually have to go out under the sun. I'd rush up to the line to get in the library with my best friend and when we got in I fast walked to the cookbook corner to find a new cookbook every time I visited. I often borrowed the books and asked mum for help and I tried making them. I also remember some of the juvenile cookbooks having girls recipe and boys recipe. Girls recipe was more complicated and more sweeter like: cupcakes, pies, hundreds and thousands sandwiches, chocolate mudcakes and more. On the other hands boys' were like: baked potato, pizza made from bread slice, grilled chicken and so on. I was kind of a tomboy back then and I hated following long orders so I usually made the boys recipe :P

Actually I still hate taking long orders so I cook menus with short instruction :)
